And We're Off...

We’re off on the next adventure for the Journey Junkies.

CJ leaves Austin Friday morning, for Charlotte. Marty and I meet up with her here and the three of us head overnight for London Heathrow. Des leaves San Diego around the same time we leave Charlotte and gets into Heathrow shortly after we do.

The four of us will go as far as Banbury on Saturday, then on to St. Bee’s on Sunday.

Debra and Liliana are in Italy and will fly and train on Sunday. Dougie Hay will be joining us for the first part of the walk and will be traveling to St. Bee’s with Deb and Lil.

St. Bee’s is a small village on the west coast of England, on the Irish Sea. It’s the traditional start of the UK Coast to Coast walk. The Coast to Coast Walk is a 183 mile footpath that runs from St. Bees to to Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea. Along the way it goes through three of England’s National Parks: The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, and the North York Moors.

We’re going to take 18 days to complete the walk, with stops at B&B’s, small hotels, and old pubs along the way. Some of the group intend to walk the entire way. Some are going to walk as they see fit. As for me, I’m going to walk some of it, manage the support van some of the time, and explore the countryside most of the time.

We’ll finish the walk with a meal at a Michelin Star restaurant, then on to York for a couple of days before flying home.
